Today was a great day in India's sporting history . We received our national cricket team back home after they have won a 'world cup' . It is a moment of national pride .But some fucking idiots are not realizing it and using it to get popular.
The players who represented the country were not 15 lucky people picked randomly from a LOT of 1000 players nor were they doing some singing crap on stage to get judged by some fucking moron judges ,who have actually had rape charges against each other a few years back...
These are men who have given their everything for playing for the country .It is because of years and years of hard work .They have earned their positions in life . Where they are now is because of their hard work . Now dont come and fucking tell me that I am making them look like soldiers .I am not talking about soldiers now . But these guys have sacrificed so much .They deserve every bit of what they are getting .
Us. People. We need to grow up . The ones who are saying the cricketers are getting more than what they deserve . Fuck. The cricketers had to leave through the back door of the same airport when they came back from ODI world cup earlier this year when they lost in the first round. Whether they win or lose ,there are a bunch of morons waiting to find fault with them always ... Its a national holiday in most countries when they win a world event ...
Why dont we just enjoy these moments and cherish them rather than cribbing ,saying hockey players are not being treated the same way and crap like the state government should be giving the prize money to people below the poverty line rather than their state players who were part of the national team ...They are back after winning the world cup ,not some school tournament... the state government must help people in POVERTY ...no question about that ... they might be slightly wrong in paying money in lakhs to the players who are already loaded with cash from bcci and sponsors...but my point is THE PLAYERS ARE NOT AT FAULT ... as i earlier said ..they deserve every bit of what they are getting ...and I am not trying to stress on how wrong the state governments are in trying to cash in on crickets popularity in the country...yes they are making hay while sun is shining ...
If cricket is popular in india it is because we had sachin saurav dravid kumble srinath vvs laxman and many more giving it their all during their careers ... these guys shud have been there during the felicitation ceremony of the team...bcci made money because these guys were so talented ...Sachin took us to the verge of winning a world cup last time in south africa in 2003...Its not a one man game ...Our nation does not know how to treat its heroes...We can shamelessly claim a Sunita Williams to be an Indian when she went into space ...She is Indian just because her name is Sunita ...But why cant we whole heartedly appreciate our national team players at this moment ...
I am not against hockey.. but if the hockey players and board whine now looking at what cricketers are getting, then it is bad ... they should focus how to win more tournaments and make the game bigger rather than compare themselves with cricket...why do cameroon and nigeria which are smaller than tamil nadu qualify to the FIFA world cups when we struggle to qualify for the qualifiers for the Asian cup qualifiers ...the whole attitude of us people and the sporting bodies is wrong ...now we know why india wins a world cup once in 24 years ...Everyone is happy being a leech...
PLEASE APPRECIATE WHAT OUR PLAYERS HAVE DONE THIS TIME IN THE 20 20 CRICKET WORLD CUP AND STOP FEELING JEALOUS AND TALKING NONSENSE ABOUT THEM ...

OF COURSE, we are happy ! Do you think INDIA is non-appreciative of Cricket ???? C'mn, Cricket is part of our lives here. However, the maharaja-treatment given to the players , I believe, is way too much. I mean, things good or bad are projected beyond limits in our country. They win, treat them like Gods, they lose, treat them like shit, don't u think there is an insane level of imbalance here !!? I do !! And the prize money offered by various governments to the folks was infuriating, really. Wht do they think the tax we r paying is for ? For blowing out on cricketers who are already basking in millions ?? I only think people and the media should become more matured enough to look at victories and losses especially in cricket, more level headedly. Dont make them GODS. They r just players !

PURPLE :- STATE GOVERNMENTS did not give them money in millions of dollars ...what the state governments have given are peanuts - 5 laks is not a lot of money and the tax u pay is not the the state governments only source of money ...
if bcci is lavish about recognising its players its because it has the money ...they did not break into ur house and steal ur money ... its all years of hard work and business acumen blending together...

And why shouldn't I be bothered about wht the Govt is doing with the money ?
State govt did not give them in millions or dollars and it's completely not my money, I know, True !! But they could have VERY WELL ustilised it for any developmental urge the country is badly in need of. It would indeed mean MILLIONS for the needy. But hey, I am NOT against Indian Cricket or players. I love the whole idea of it.
And who's cribbing here ? The whole nation was celebrating the entire cricket team. And the hockey players had their opinion. It's in our rights to express what we say, until it's not disturbing or hurting anybody. You cannot call that Cribbing or adulation !!
My sole point is we should not OVERREACT to each win or lose the players make.
It is used for "developmental urge" only ... Now India will win more world cups ... you are only over reacting ... the whole universe is calm

i followed the asia cup hockey matches on tv.I saw two of indias matches live in the stadium in . DID I EVER SAY I DONT LIKE HOCKEY . FOr me its Soccer,cricket ,tennis,f1 and then hockey ...then other sports

But I do think, too much freedom and limelight is being given to cricket.. Again, wat you are saying is correct; over-reacting to anything, either win or lose, is wrong..
